It seems my Great Fireball At The End Of Time parable was not understood properly. I already explained it in more detail via e-mail to the person who first asked, but I suppose explaining it publicly may also be of use. The reason why Grug does not need to be praised is because our world has an oversupply of He-Men. The integrated warrior/king archetype is not rare, I don't remember who said this, but give the average Fortune 500 CEO complete control over the American government and that individual will do a stellar job, I also believe this is true. So Grug is not the problem, and in my parable note what Grug does first, Grug first talks, he tells the magicians to control the fire, he doesn't beat them up right away, he is just like He-Man, the integrated man. Grug is just doing his job, which is to ensure the survival and prosperity of his tribe. Grug does not need to be praised because such people are not the problem of our reality, they exist, they are there, they are competent, they do their jobs.

The problem of our reality are the Magicians. The shaman who spreads the knowledge of fire and creates a cult of pyromaniacs, both he and his cult members, all of them are magicians, and magicians, as with every archetype, can be both positive and negative. Do you need me to spell it out where I think each of the major magicians involved in all this fall? This is where just running a basic physiognomy check on them clearly tells you everything you need to know. Look at Sam Altman. I've seen perhaps a hundred twinks like him on grindr, and met a few, and they are easily the most evil people I've ever met. Something about that collection of facial traits that creates that specific kind of gay face is really such a tell, it's incredible.

And then look at Dario, look at his chubby face and his curly hair, that is just not the face of a Lv.99 silver-tongued devil, I genuinely believe Dario has never lied in his entire life. Regardless of if he has, just look at his actions, on top of winning the race on the technical side of things (he is the better mage technically speaking), he burned a lot of good will by being early to warning people, by saying that finally something is happening, to the great disbelief and displeasure of many nothing ever happeners, when it wasn't yet clear to everyone how fast things were about to get, you don't do that if you're a cunning manipulator, if you were one you'd stay silent, you'd try to stay on people's good side, you'd only speak about the dangers if they aided you in some way (i.e. they make it easier to lock out competitors via regulatory capture, which is arguably what Sam has done more than Dario), you wouldn't want to look stupid by spreading unnecessary fear. Dario is a good guy who genuinely believes in his mission and he is doing everything he can to not regret his actions when he dies, that's how I read it.

So when I look at all this, and then I look at the response of many other AI-pilled people on X to these advancements, it's clear that if certain people (many on the "tech right") had control/access to these powerful models they would not act responsibly under some misguided notions of freedom and other assorted nonsense. Their misguided notions would bring about more harm than good eventually in a way that can't easily be undone and that's that. And so, as with any relationship, you don't want to just berate your partner when they do something you don't like, you also want positive reinforcement, you want to praise them when they do more of what you want to see. And what do I want to see? More good magicians, therefore I praise Anthropic alone.
