Visual variations of the site redesign ideas from the Fable and Astra discussion. Round one tried structures and themes across the front door, the paged reader, the notebook, work homes, logs and engine-only ideas. Round two takes the images the owner chose (5, 7, 12, 15, 16, 17, 21) and varies how they work: no sidebar, dark theme only, real text on every page.
Click any image to see it at full size with Astra's spec, its type and button treatment, and its noted deviations. Left and right arrows move between images, Esc closes. Chips hide a round or a theme, the way the site's filter chips do.
Choosing. What the first screen presents, and how much of it belongs to finished works versus current activity.

Reading sequentially. The same It Follows opening on a dark spread, a paper spread and a phone, plus the two boundaries a book has and a feed lacks: an overview and an ending.

The current feed's material. Entries #528 to #530 paginated and scrolled with identical content, so pagination itself is the only variable, then the wild desk.

One home per work: the prototype, its development history and its related essays as one object.

Consulting. The transcript scrolls as today, inside a series frame.

What only a renderer that draws both prose and play can do: a playable plate, a reading trail, text as space, a replay as a page.

Functional variations of image 5: no sidebar, a cover row, sampling every collection, notebook-first, a paged notebook on the front door, the phone, remembered places.

Functional variations of image 7: chapter navigation without a rail, single page versus spread, link previews, mixed content on pages, citing a passage, the page-turn edge, reading settings.

Functional variations of image 12: the reader's chrome on the notebook, one entry per page, every entry form on one spread, a message permalink, the phone.

The novel home, the game open in its home, the Replays tab, and the Experiments and Essays collection pages.

The time-by-project archive, a log in the reader, a log built for consulting, a replay inside a turn, a replay linked to its transcript.

Search across every collection, and expanded media with a clear way back.
